There are several companies with underdrive pulleys that slow the water pump down. Is this a good idea?

Will,
Underdrive pulleys can cause your engine to oveheat at low speed and idle.
The horsepower claims made by some of the companies that sell these pulleys are way off the mark. A cooler engine always makes more horsepower.
