Does anybody know what are the standard measuments of the bearing of the mechanical water pump for a 1957 6-cylinder Chevy BelAir?
I appreciate your help since I bought a new pump and it's got a weird noise. They say it's the bearing and I need it replaced.
Thanks in advance.

Replacing the bearing in a water pump not an easy task. The bearings are not available at "bearing stores".....and it requires a press with a bunch of special tooling. The seal, hub and impeller typically have to be replaced when a new bearing is installed.

If you just bought the pump it should be replaced under warranty.

I can restore your original pump for $100.00....or you can buy a new GMB Premium OEM Replacement pump from Water Pump Warehouse for $84.32 plus shipping. Water Pump Warehouse has the largest selection of new OEM replacement water pumps....pumps for over 10,000 applications.

Just call 336-870-8777
